At the end of a session, exercises and advice may be given by your Osteopath in order to help the healing process, to address maintaining factors or to help prevent re-injury. Exercises will be specific to the individual, and at an appropriate level. The exercises need not be strenuous to be effective. In the time between treatments, you can have a significant effect on your own recovery by improving the environment of the injured area.
Advice may be wide ranging such as addressing maintaining factors of a dysfunction, improving diet, health or fitness. For example, advice may be as simple as recommending arch supports for pronated feet. NLP exercises may be given to people who are open to self development techniques.
